|Post subject:||Emergency Grants for individual artists|
The Foundation has just reopened the application to our Emergency Grants for individual artists, which provides grants of up to $6,000 to US-based visual artists who have been impacted by a natural or man-made disaster affecting a region on a broad scale. The Emergency Grant is intended to help reestablish their studio practice. We accept applications on a rolling basis and will consider requests for up to three years following such an event. For more information and the link to our application, please visit https://joanmitchellfoundation.org/arti ... /emergency.
We are currently working to get the word out about this grant, particularly to artists in regions affected by Hurricanes Florence, Harvey, Irma, Maria, and Michael; California wildfires; or other events of this nature or scale. I hope that you will share any thoughts or suggestions you may have about other organizations that have been active in emergency/disaster funding for artists and whose artist community could benefit from this information.
It’s my pleasure to share with you the attached flier, which we hope you will share with your constituents. There is also a standalone graphic that can be used in newsletters or web listings, if you list emergency/disaster relief funding sources. For social media, we have some examples of text below; if you already have information about us in a resource page or document, you can use this language there as we have updated it this year.
