I was born and raised in Toulouse, France. I studied in the school of the great French master Aristide Maillol. It is there that I acquired my passion for depicting the female body.
I have been working in the community of Central Florida for more than 12 years. My art practice has been my guiding star through life's challenges: painting was my escape from isolation and family turmoil. Now, my studio is located on the second floor of the Gallery on First, in nearby Sanford, where I am surrounded by the raw power of artwork produced by folk and outsider artists: I draw inspiration from their unique language.
I create vivid acrylic/ encaustic paintings that reflect my faith in women’s power to sustain and resist the challenges of life. I mix new and traditional techniques to create my own three-dimensional style – a kind of papier mâché. I add textural elements by using a wide range of colors under the influence of artists as varied as Modigliani, Chagall or Allison Saar.
Each art work is a reflection of my emotions and the special events that take place in my innermost life. The work is a unique expression of my fascination with the soft power of women: I want to convey this power to other women!
