Art Gallery Manager

The Winter Garden Art Association, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, located at 127 SoBo Gallery in Winter Garden, FL, is seeking a Gallery Manager to work closely with the WGAA Board of Directors to empower the Association’s artistic policies and to manage the day-to-day operations of the gallery. The Manager will work diligently to maintain the pre-established goals of WGAA, our programming and overall vision of the Association as we continue our mission to bring art to the West Orange community.

Qualifications

We are seeking an individual with an understanding and appreciation of art, combined with the business and administrative skills to manage the gallery and art center activities. Time commitment 20 hours per week to start with potential for more hours in the future.

Specific Responsibilities and Duties

Manage the ongoing day-to-day business of the gallery
Maintain financial records for gallery income & payments (process receipts for class registration fees & gallery sales; record payments due to artists & instructors) and report to Bookkeeper weekly
Act as Registrar overseeing registration of all classes, workshops, night studio and children’s programs (online, walk-in and call-in registrations)
Assist with monthly Gallery Exhibition Openings. This would include processing artist’s submissions, communicating with artists, creating labels & spreadsheets to track submissions & sales
Oversee the gallery database (Artists, Membership, Instructors & Clients)
Act as corresponding secretary – writing and responding to emails, phone calls and web inquiries
Oversee building maintenance and call for support as required; maintain supplies for art gallery, office and physical facility
Work closely with volunteer staff and oversee gallery hosts, their daily tasks and responsibilities
Skills Required

Firm knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and familiarization with QuickBooks.
Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills
Strong sense of teamwork and ability to deal with a wide range of people (volunteers, artists and clients)
A genuine interest in, and enthusiasm for, art and community.
Knowledge of database management, social media and mail merge is a plus
Compensation is commensurate with education and previous work experience. Applications accepted through 4/24/17.
