Statement:
The Seminole Cultural Arts Council is a advocate for the preservation of local cultural and historic heritage, including performing, literary, visual arts and sciences, and serves to sustain, develop, and advance the cultural life of Seminole County.
As an organization, we are in service to our clients, the arts and cultural organizations offering programming and activities for school children, families, and senior citizens in Seminole County. "Arts in Education" and "Arts in the Community," two core programs, provide key services and support to help cultural organizations deliver arts experiences in our community.
SCAC is committed to fostering a thriving arts and cultural community. Since its inception in 1994, and with the support of the Board of County Commissioners, SCAC has awarded more than $250,000 in grants to individuals and organizations offering art and cultural programs in Seminole County. From 2007-2008, the SCAC Grants Program invested $13,300 into the arts community and that venture provided meaningful arts experiences to over 20,000 youths, and more than 10,000 adults and seniors.
