Biography
Nancy Moskovitz celebrates the quiet beauty of everyday life in layers of rich luminous colors.
A professional award-winning artist, in 2008 her work took a first place and an honorable mention in two regional exhibits.
In 2007, three of her pieces won Best of Show in juried regional competitions. As 2007 artist-in-residence for Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites, she painted the unspoiled beauty of Sapelo Island, GA.
In 2006, Nancy Moskovitz's paintings hung in the Appleton Museum of Art's prestigious Biennial Exhibit. Her work was featured in the Dec. 2001 issue of Ocala Style Magazine, and has appeared in American Artist Magazine.
One of the original Ocala Horse Fever artists, her two horses, Subtle Glitz and Maretisse, raised over $28,000 for Marion Cultural Alliance in 2002.
Moskovitz is a charter member of Out of Hand Artists, a salon formed in support of one another as career artists in the Ocala area. She holds signature status in Plein Air Florida, is a member of Landscape Artists International, Portrait Society of America, and the Marion Cultural Alliance.
Nancy cut her artistic teeth on Sargent at the Isabella Stewart Gardiner Museum and Monet at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Both are walking distance from Simmons College where she earned a BA with honors in education and art history.
As mother of three, Nancy taught 15 years in Ocala before pursuing professional painting full time in 2003.
